Capturing the moment with the Dalai Lama
I found myself at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition centre this morning with my brand new toy - the Canon 7D. A crowd was gathering to glimpse His Holiness the Dalai Lama as he was leaving the morning session of "Awakening the Mind". I installed myself in a little alcove underneath a sign along the exit path, hoping to catch a shot using the video mode.
I wasn't expecting what happened next - His Holiness saw us sitting there, thought it was funny and came to say hello. It was wonderful to see his face light up with playful mischief as he pulled one of his fans closer from the very back.
It's certainly not the best footage but it did capture the moment and now it's being shared online. With technology advances and social media more and more people are going to be able to share their stories.
It's something we're hoping to tap into with one of my clients during the 2010 Sydney Festival.
